Maximize Your Time PowerPlus™ Induction Technology boils water in less than 2 minutes so you can shave time off of cooking dinner everyday. 1 Gas Benefits, Without the Remodel Our PowerPlus™ Induction Cooktop offers the speed, control, and consistency of gas, without requiring the converting of your kitchen from electric to gas. Flexible Cooking SpacePro™ Bridge Element allows you to cook two separate dishes at once, or combine elements for large pots or griddle-use. The cooktop adapts to the size of the pan whether it’s a small pot, a large frying pan, or a griddle. Induction cooking directly heats the pan; heating will only begin when cookware is properly placed on the cooking zones. Fast and efficient - Induction cooking zones heat faster and use less energy. Induction power levels are quick to boil and they are efficient when simmering. A cooler cooktop - A unique feature of the induction cooking zones is, whether it is turned on or off, the cooking zones remain cooler than radiant type elements. Virtually no wasted heat is produced since the heat begins with the presence of cookware. Easy cleanups - The cooler cooking zones make cleanup easier. Spills resist sticking or burning so they wipe up easily. Magnetic detector - The cooking zone has a sensor that automatically detects whether cookware is magnetic. This will reduce accidental “turn-ons.” Pan size detection - The pan size recognition sensor automatically detects and adapts the induction cooking zones to the pan sizes in use for consistent, more even cooking. More responsive - Induction cooking zones are more responsive than their electric or gas counterparts because only the pan heats. This type of cooking heats easier and will be just as responsive when reducing to a simmer. For the best possible surface cooking results, it is recommended to only use high quality heavy gauge cookware on the induction cooking zones. Be sure to follow all the manufacturer’s recommendations when using cookware made for induction cooking. To check if the cookware base material is suitable, use a magnet to test. If a magnet sticks to the bottom of the cookware, the material type is correct. The most common induction cookware types available are: Stainless steel - Generally excellent for induction cooking plus it is durable, easy to clean and resists staining. However, it is important to note that not all stainless steel is magnetic. Cast iron - Good for induction cooking. Cooks evenly. Do not slide cast iron cookware on cooktop. Cast iron cookware with a rough surface will scratch ceramic cooktop. Porcelain-enamel coated metals - Heating characteristics will vary depending on quality of base material. Porcelain-enamel coating must be smooth to avoid scratching the ceramic cooktop. For more information or tips on cookware, visit your Owner’s Manual.' The option to silent audible tones may not be applicable on all models so you want to check your Owner’s Manual. For applicable models - When selecting a function on your display, an audible tone is heard each time a key is pressed. If you desire, the display can be programmed for silent operation. To set the controls for silent operation: Press and hold Start Time for 6 seconds. The display will beep once and then you can release the key. The controls are now set for silent operation. To return your audible tones to normal operation: Press and hold Start Time again for 6 seconds until the display beeps once and then you release the key. The controls are now set for audible operation. Rated 5 out of 5 by Scully56 from Better than gas! Our first induction cooktop and we are very pleased. The response time for setting changes is incredible. We've had an assortment of gas and electric stoves over the years and preferred gas. Our new house did not have gas available without the expensive installation of propane so we went with this induction cooktop. It's nicely designed, looks good and works great. Can boil small pots of water in seconds. And because the surface doesn't get very hot, it makes spills very easy to clean. Rated 3 out of 5 by Crunez from Nice design. Had some issues. We purchased the proseffional series for our kitchen. This unit is the only one I have had issues with it. We have been using it for only a month and will have to have a second repair person come to address yet another code. We have had several codes since using the unit. The 1st code after only using the unit less than 2 weeks. I feel like this is not normal and may have a defective stove top but was told that they can only have it serviced any time a code appears. I feel like for the money we spent and the time frame we have used it, something is wrong with it. To have the stove taken apart 3 times and put back together does not give me confidence in this unit. We shall see after the next repair man comes to address the current code. Prior to having the codes, I loved the style and using the cooktop. Water boils almost immediately with the power boost function. ![]() I would suggest the extended warrenty esp. Since the unit will not be replaced even it it seems defective. † No Interest if Paid in Full within 6, 12, 24 Months: Available on purchases on Samsung.com charged to a Samsung Financing Program Account. The power and precision of the electromagnetic field, below the glass surface, that quickly provides heat. “Since you’re heating the pan directly, you’re not losing time while heat transfers from a radiant electric burner,” explains Tara Casaregola, who oversees our cooktop testing. Of course, not all induction cooktops ace our tests, and we do see differences in how individual models perform. Further, price doesn't always track with performance. For example, a $1,350 model in our ratings actually heats water faster and simmers more steadily than a $5,000 model. Portable Induction Stove TopWe test every cooktop at low and high heat. Just about any cooktop will fare well enough when cooking over medium heat, but a stellar model will also boil quickly and simmer steadily. “The extremes between low- and high-heat tasks are where we really see differences,” Casaregola says. For high-heat cooking, we use a standardized pot, filled with 6 ounces of water, on the largest cooktop burner. We jack up the burner to the highest setting and note the speed with which the water heats up. Induction Stove Tops ElectricFor low-heat cooking, we use the smallest burner to melt chocolate and simmer water and tomato sauce, gauging how well cooktops hold a steady simmer temperature without dropping too low or scorching the contents of the pan. We test 30- and 36-inch induction cooktops from such brands as, Frigidaire GE, Kenmore, KitchenAid, Samsung, and Whirlpool.
